I'm Already 8 Months Old!

I went for my check-up today. I had to get 3 shots. I was super brave and only cried for a little bit. I weigh 18 pounds and I'm 28 1/4 inches tall. The nurse says that means I am tall and skinny. Oh well, I eat as much as I can and I LOVE my bottles. I am such a happy boy, I love playing with my big sister and sometimes I wish I could move around like she does. But for now, I just like sitting and watching. I haven't even tried to crawl or pull up on stuff - there's so much to see if I just sit in one spot! I still love to give kisses and cuddle. Oh, and I like to receive kisses too!

We went North to Illinois this Christmas to spend fun times with relatives. Please notice our cutie pjs from our Gramma and Grandpa in California. They even have our names on them! We had a fun Christmas and got lots of presents. "Christmas is ober" - that's what I say every once in awhile. I had so much fun this Christmas and Kingston had fun too playing with the wrapping paper. oh yeah, the other big people in this picture are our parents. I think they take care of us or something. But they always say stuff about us having to obey them - hmmm... I think they'll be around for awhile...

Notice in myhand I have my "little tree" and my purse - which, by the way, I misplaced in all the Christmas trees, and when it was time to go inside from the freezing cold I told Mom I needed to get my purse so we went looking in the freezing cold in all the rows of Christmas trees which all looked the same in the freezing cold - but then we found it, in the freezing cold -- poor little purse!

They're called stockings! right?

I love playing with my favorite doll and dancing in my favorite "bow-ae" dress.

This is what little boys do when little girls play with ballet dresses - they lock themselves in a cube and chew on toy baskets -- well, they get to chew until Mom sees basket fibers coming off.

So...Mom got these aweful white socks from Stride Rite....they would be comfortable if I just could get my shins to grow a little -- sissy's got it down...

...I've been enjoying my homeade fruit and veggie baby food. This is what they looked like before they got washed, baked, smooshed, cubed, and frozen. yum!

I've also learned how to grab anything I can reach - this list is always growing and includes the following:
sissy's hair,
lamps, glasses,
Mom's entire plate at the restaurant,
spoons,
bracelets,
and anything that will make noise if I shake it.

Messy 3x a Day!

Hey there! I love me some peas! I love em so much I try to grab them when they're on the spoon; then I touch em while they're in my mouth. I make lots of messes! Mom calls me such a little boy.

I now eat 3 meals a day with a snack before I go snooze for the night - plus I usually have an early morning snack... I need to make sure I'm getting enough calories! I have loved and devoured all the food I've been fed! Rice cereal, sweet peas, sweet potatoes, applesauce, yogurt - just to mention a few. Oh, and sometimes I need a little diluted pear juice - mmmm - except I only drink that if it's warmed. My favorite place to eat is on the counter in my bumbo chair - except sometimes I get distracted and start playing with my feet - it's hard to eat and play with your feet at the same time. Sometimes my big sis lets me borrow her high chair - I look very tiny when I'm in it, but it has cool animals on it.

So, our Dad and Mom sneeked away for the evening and left us at Aunti Sky and Uncle Jim's house. Of course, we don't mind, cause we LOVE going over there. We even got spend part of the night there! But we thought it was funny cause Mom and Dad didn't know what to do with themselves since we weren't around. Don't they look confused?!

We think they got over their confusion and got excited!

Don't worry, we're back online again!! Mom said our internet got fried by a power surge in our neighborhood. We've been busy lately. Here are just few pics of all the fun we've been having!

Dad was commuting 3hours one way last week, so Mom kept us up late so we could see him before bed time. I was watching Pocahontas and Kingston was sitting next to me like a big kid. We love our Daddy - he works SO hard at his job!!

While Daddy was busy, we checked out this awesome park downtown!

We also went to the pumpkin patch! I'll post pics soon of my pumkins I picked out. I wasn't wanting to stop for pictures at the pumpkin patch - check out my sweet boots from Aunti Sky!!

Wacky Wednesday Fun

This morning we went to Kripy Kreme for breakfast! I picked out my favorite - glazed with chocolate and sprinkles. I ate the WHOLE thing, well except for the part that got on my face.

I had a bunch of fun running up the steps, across the walkway, and back down the steps -- over and over again.

On our walk home we found this beautiful field of grass - right in the middle of the city! - it was pretty, but I was getting tired and didn't really want my picture taken - oh, and I was wearing sticky clothes cause I spilled my orange juice on them.

Mom was rearranging the books this morning and had piles of books all over the living room; so I decided to add to the stack of books with my own books.

The Story of Gustav

First, Dad and Mom where in such a flurry scurry to get all of our emergency supplies together before Hurricane Gustav hit the Gu'f. Here is Dad - if you look really close you can see him checking the computer for weather updates, stocking our freezer with water, and stocking up on groceries. Him and Mom were so busy busy getting everything together, I couldn't get a clear picture of it all - but you get the idea...

As it turns out, Gustav turned away from us so we didn't need any of our emergency supplies. We were very happy!

Then, when it was all blown over, Dad realized how tired he was. Ha! I was just glad to have a little rice cereal - cause I've been super hungry lately. Mom thought it looked cute on my face, so I obliged and gave her a smile.

Then next day, Tuesday, everything was closed cause of a little flooding; and we don't really know why everything was closed. But the library was open! we got some books and Elmo movies. Auntie Sky and cousins came too. They showed me how to whipser in the library!

That is the story of Hurricane Gustav.

My Silly Sis

My big sis is so silly. She's learning Genesis 1:1 and she says "God created heavens and earth and that's it". Then she says "God made ALL things". I think she learned that from her music cd she listens to while she plays in her fun room sometimes. I heard her ask Mom where God lives. She tries to ask hard questions all the time.
She keeps calling me a baby cause I wear diapers. She wears panties now cause she's a big kid. I don't know why Mom seems so excited all the time about that. My sis likes to do a tinkle dance after she goes potty in the toilet. Sometimes Mom'll dance with her -- girls are funny. I don't think I'll do the tinkle dance.
Every morning now I get to go into Gianna's room when she wakes up. I'm SO happy in the morning! Gianna thinks it's funny when I get put next to her in her bed. She laughs right in my face. It's sorta loud, but I'm getting used to it, and I don't jump like I used to when she would laugh close to my face.
Oh, and did I mention that Gianna taught me how to suck my thumb? it's the best thing! I always suck my right thumb when I get put into bed now -- it's so cozy! Gianna's teaching me all sorts of cool things!

This is the only picture Mom got last Sunday morning. I wasn't in the mood for pictures, and this is what Kingston thought of it. Plus Mom and Dad were in a hurry cause they slept late. I think I heard Kingston fussing during the night too, hmm. . . maybe that's why he's yawning.

This is MY chocolate shake. I got it at Big Time Burger when Mom and I went there for lunch. We left the boys at home and went shopping too!

This is me in my tent. I actually only played in it if I had something to eat - so... I got lots of snack that afternoon.

I get very excited when the garden (gardener) comes. I always watch them from my window and point out that one that always wears red pants. I think I would like to wear red pants.

Who Knew Lentils Could Be So Fun?!

So, mom let me cook with some lentils the other day. I had so much fun. I started out as a serious cooker girl with my cooking clothes from Gramma and everything -- here I am being so careful not to spill one little lentil.

After a few seconds I started to get tired of that, so I decided to taste them. hmmm...they're much better after mom cooks them.

Then I lost it and got so many of them on the floor that mom let me do a dance in them. Oh, and I also found a yummy brownie crumb on the floor. I don't know why my Mom didn't want me to eat it, cause it was such a yummy! Mom is still cleaning up lentils - I even found one in the couch - of course, I threw it in the trash for Mom, cause I'm a helper girl.

...we've had check-ups,

both of us are healthy kids. I was so brave that I got special apple juice afterwards, and I also helped make Kingston feel better after he got his 4 shots. Poor baby! When this picture was taken I was tired of being a good kid and I was asking for night night time.

...we've gone to church,

I love going to Wednesday church! If I get ready for church too soon, I get impatient and want to leave. In this picture I am specifically telling my Mom "I don't want it" - my picture taken is what I was talking about. Oh well, Mom says I'm cute even when I'm mad.

...and we've gone to a ball game.

Kingston loves his Miss Julie and Miss Wendy. It was SO HOT at the BayBears game - well, at least until the rain storm.

It has been SO hot I can't play outside. Even really early in the morning it's too hot. Mom says I need to get some energy out so she lets me jump inside. I get to jump on the air mattress. I've even been brave enough to jump from the couch onto the mattress. Super Fun is what I call it. I keep asking Mom if she can jump with me, but she says she's too big to jump. Then I want Kingston to jump, but he's to small. I guess I am the perfect size for jumping!

...we were having a hard time getting ready for church, but we still had time to shoot this photo. I really wanted to wear Mom's shoes to church, but she said they were too big for me - I didn't like that very much. And Kingston, well, he just wasn't feeling himself - poor baby. Once we got in the car we were all very happy about life. I graduated to the big kid toddler room at church. I get to even go to a different room now, just to eat my snack. I love being with the big kids. Kingston can't graduate like me 'til he stops sleeping during church.

All in a Day's Work

Good afternoon! Here's what's been going on in my life:

I've been swimming so much lately and yesterday I even "jumped" into the pool - while holding Mom's hands of course. I'm not sure if I can trust my Mom too much though cause a few times she let me go under the water. hmmm. I'm still not too sure if I like that, but it didn't spoil the rest of my swimming.

I've also been visiting my neighbor, Miss Dot. She's a grandma and doesn't have any nice little girls like me around, so I keep her company sometimes. I love sitting outside with her on her porch. We gave her some cookies and she loved them.

So I suddenly love to color - everything. I know all my basic colors and yesterday Mom taught me a new one - grayt - is what I call it.

I still love helping Mom take care of Kingston. My jobs include: holding a clean diaper and getting a wipe out during changing time, findind his binky - since I'm usually the one that loses it, and putting the dirty clothes in my turtle hamper. My Mom says I'm a big helper girl.

I guess I'm gonna let Kingston have a few words now...

Hi! Kingston here. Gianna was getting bored this afternoon so I decided to help her out by letting her push me around in her baby stroller. It's pink and there are princesses on it, but Dad wasn't here to put a stop to it. It's so hard to be the man of the house all day. Don't tell my Dad, but I did have lots of fun in the stroller. Kingston is growing so fast! He's getting some little baby fats and rolls on his long legs and arms. He still loves his sleep and sleeps 6 hours at night which Mom and Dad love. I love my baby brother Kingston.

Me and my Mom have been talking about obeying. She ALWAYS talks about it. I told her yesterday that I have to obey Daddy, Mommy, God and Auntie Sky. That's a lot of people to obey. But I'm doing a super job cause I'm a big kid. I also asked my Mom if baby Kingston had to obey. She said he did, so then I asked her if his binki had to obey too; but she said that binkies didn't have naughties. hmmm....that's a lot to think about. Now I have to think of other things to try and stump my Mom. I do that a lot -- it's so fun -- my Dad taught me!

Today was my baby brother Kingston's 4 weeks check-up. He's really healthy. He weighs 11 lbs 6oz. and he is in the 90th percentile for height and weight.

I love "pinning"! My Mom let me paint with my fingers! I was so excited because I got to wear Daddy's shirt and get paint on it -- then I got really messy and tried to give Kingston a hug - my Mom freaked out. Every morning I stand in front of the fridge where my pictures are hanging, and I tell my Mom that the pictures are beautiful.
